About the Job
Position Summary:
Works under the general direction of the President, responsible for the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including recruiting, onboarding, performance reviews, company benefits plan, employee relations, training and development initiatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits and leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, and morale.
  • Works with the President and insurance broker to develop a comprehensive and cost-effective benefit program, provides explanation of benefits to current and new employees, manages and processes enrollments and changes, organizes annual open enrollment
  • Provide oversight of 401(k) plan including processing all changes, distributions, loans, and annual audit
  • Reviews, tracks and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education and work assessments. 
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of all qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Conducts reference checks and employee eligibility verifications
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance 
  • Develops, implements, enforces HR policies and practices
  • Provide support to employees in various HR related topics such as leaves, compensation and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Manages the performance review process
  • Help drive culture through employee engagement
  • Maintain employee files and records in electronic form
  • Process weekly payroll when Finance is not available
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or related field
  • At least four years of Human Resource experience
  • PHR/SHRM-CP certification or similar a plus
  • Expert knowledge of general human resources policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of and experience maintaining compliance with federal, state and local employment, and benefits laws and regulations
